“Gareth contributed greatly (and mostly on his own) in pulling together and promoting the CASS MBA alumni network that, when he started back in 2004, was in total disarray. In the past few years he demonstrated enthusiasm, motivation, organizational and networking skill and even stubbornness until the alumni organization finally started to take off and reflect adequately the values and level of CASS business school. Like many CASS alumni I am grateful to Gareth as ultimately he achieved a lot for all of us.” January 18, 2009

Topic: "Expansion and Growth in Difficult Times" – Santander Insurance in the UK

Introducing Banco Santander

Santander Insurance - a global force

Santander Insurance in the UK:

- acquisition of Abbey

- key challenges in the UK market

- to manufacture or just distribute?

- the credit crunch and impact on retail insurance distribution

- the Santander response: growth through acquisition (A&L, B&B and GE Consumer) and product / channel diversification

What does the next 2-3 years hold for Santander Insurance UK?

“I would like to recommend and promote Gareth's EMBA club initiative. He has driven this from the beginning without much CASS support yet regularly delivers a valuable forum for CASS alumni to meet, network and listen to an interesting city / business speaker. All of this comes only with Gareth's continuing drive and organisational skills David Beer Chairman PetrochemCarless Holdings” October 15, 2007

“Great work Gareth is doing at the EMBA Club. I strongly recommend all CASS MBA alumni to come and join us at the events. Great networking opportunity!” October 11, 2007

Rodrigo Franciscani, Business Product Manager, Motorola

“Gareth has relentlessly and almost single-handedly kept the CASS Alumni (EMBA) going. Each event has been meticulously planned and attended. The events provide a great opportunity to meet up with old friends/colleagues and also new ones. The speeches given by choice speakers at each event also create a buzz that lifts and inspires all.” October 6, 2007

alex sakpoba, Project Manager, BP

“Gareth has showed fantastic energy, skills and motivation in organising successful CASS MBA alumni events. He has been incredible in connecting people during these events. I recently went to another alumni event from my undergraduate school (Bocconi, Milan) and although there were nearly 100 people there was no networking among members. These CASS MBA events have proved to be really successful to meet old friends, make new ones, and create new business connections while discussing intriguing topics with experienced speaker. It would be great if more people will join next quarterly event. I believe they are missing out a lot!!!” October 5, 2007

Francesco Mosca, Director UK business, Camiceria di Como

Good morning Gareth

Thanks for organising yesterdays event. Alan was an interesting and quality speaker. The post speaker discussion was also worthwhile. It's a pity that more people did not attend.

I am sorry I had to rush off before drinks...

Best regards
